"The Deuce" takes in a hay bale fire near a structure
Mon. Jan 11th 2010

This afternoon Companies 2 (Huguenot), 1 (Powhatan) & Amelia 4 (Mattoax) responded to the 800 block of Clayville Road to find several round bales of hay on fire near a barn.  Firefighters were assisted by the farmer, who used his tractor to spread the bales out away from the barn in his field to allow them to burn out.  Personnel then used a drip torch to create a fire line around them.  Members were on the scene for approximately 2 hours.

Units that responded from "The Deuce": Brush 2 and Tanker 2.
